This recipe is a dream if you like wings and want an easy keto buffalo wings recipe without the deep fryer. These easy keto Buffalo Wings are made in the oven. Win-win! If you like buffalo wild wings, you’ll love these.
Credit to my friend Bobby Tait for teaching me this one. It’s brilliance is in its simplicity. And, it’s the only way I’ve been able to approximate the taste of my favorite wings (Bird’s Nest in Chicago & Plucker’s in Austin).
- Prep Time: ~5 min
- Cook Time: ~55 min
- 1 serving = 6-12 wings
Skinny Buffalo Wings Ingredients:
- 6-12 raw, chicken wings per person (defrosted)
- 1 bottle of Frank’s Red Hot
- Optional: Celery sticks & bleu cheese or ranch dressing.
Instructions for No Fryer Buffalo Wings:
Preheat oven to 475F. Spray a cookie sheet with non-stick spray, then add your defrosted wings in a single layer. Bake the wings about 50 minutes at 475F until the skin is dark golden brown and the outer skin is crisp and bubbling. Avoid the temptation to take them out too early…I’ve made this mistake many times. You want your wings to be crisp.
Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
Put the wings in a large bowl or Tupperware container that you can cover with a lid. I use tongs to grab the wings because they are hot coming off the cookie sheet. Once wings are in the bowl, slather on your Frank’s Red Hot Sauce. Cover the bowl with a lid and shake spastically until the wings are evenly coated with wing sauce.
Pat the cookie sheet dry if necessary. Dump all the sauced wings back on cookie sheet.
Plate your wings with side of celery sticks and bleu cheese or ranch dressing.

Shopping notes for your keto wings:
The wings are typically in the open-air refrigerated cases near the raw, packaged chicken breasts and chicken thighs. Can be hard to spot sometimes. You’ll want good wings for this easy keto buffalo wings recipe. They may also be available in the butcher section. You want the raw, all natural “wingettes” and/or “drumettes.” They don’t have any seasoning or breading on them. I get one package of wingettes and one package of drumettes typically.
Frank’s Red Hot is available everywhere, but you can use your preferred hot sauce or wing sauce. BBQ sauce also works if you’re not a heat-lover.
